What anchors you?

Blog life always gets away from me – and at this time of year, it’s certainly difficult to get onto the important rather than the urgent – or just the clammering crazy! Yes, life is getting pretty busy this time of year. But what better time than to anchor yourself in what really matters?

This Sunday at The River gathering at 3pm we’ll be exploring our anchors – what anchors our life? Is it holding us fast when storms and craziness hit? Is there something more, something stronger, something better? Is there an anchor for the soul?

There will be a chance to reflect and to stop, as well as to laugh and chat about important stuff with new and old friends.
And, as always, a chance to be outside in the fresh air, with cake – what could beat that?

We had advertised a band this Sunday, but “The Anti-Fall Movement” had to reschedule their visit to next year. And another change, our Christmas celebration will be on Sunday 2nd December (rather than the 9th) to miss the Christmas parties that start filling each weekend closer to Christmas – and to get us in the mood for the real reason for the season. We’re going to have a bbq and enjoy some carols out on the lawn.

So, quick summary:

Sunday 11th November (THIS SUNDAY), 3pm –
What anchors you? – service & picnic

Sunday 2nd December, 3pm –
Christmas celebration – service, carols, gingerbread and BBQ!!!!

And in December, we’ll release our programme for 2013 – it’s starting to look really special. Can’t wait to share it with you.

Would LOVE to see you this Sunday and in December. And as always, happy to hear your ideas, your prayer requests and chat about whatever! Just email ststephenswarrandyte@gmail.com

God bless and see you Sunday! Megan

  1. Hi Megan
The Church website says this service is on the third Sunday of the month, but looking at your blog it seems to be the second?
    Thanks
    Paul

    • Paul! Good thing you’re here! Yes, we’ve changed the Sunday to the 3rd of the month for 2013 to miss all the school holidays and mothers day etc. I’ll make the adjustments now and publish all the dates for the year – the first being this Sunday, 20th January. Would be wonderful to see you there at 3pm. Megan
